This is a very good book to dip in and out of. It introduces key moments / ideas / processes in graphic design history and shows how they have developed and progressed using illustrations taken loosely from the beginning, middle and now across the last 150 years . It is good at highlighting important concepts for 1st year students. It gives a concise introduction of each topic discussed and has good pointers to further reading to help a student deepen their understanding of Graphic Design and the ideas discussed.
